WIP Tennis — Privacy Policy

WIP Tennis ("the app", "we", "us") helps you decide whether a scheduled outdoor tennis match is likely to be playable, and lets you log your matches. This policy explains what data the app handles and why. We keep it deliberately minimal: there are no accounts, no logins, no advertising, and no third-party analytics or tracking.

What the app stores on your device

Your matches — the location you searched, court surface, date and time, any doubles partner name, scores, win/loss, and the app's playability prediction — are stored locally on your device. You can delete any match at any time, which removes it from your device.

What the app sends, and to whom

• Weather providers. To produce a forecast, the geographic coordinates of your match location are sent to public weather services (Open-Meteo and the U.S. National Weather Service) to retrieve weather data. These coordinates are derived from the city you search and are approximate (city-level), not precise device GPS.
• Match reports (to improve forecasts). When you record what actually happened with a match, the app sends an anonymous report to our backend (hosted on Supabase). A report includes the match location and coordinates, court surface, scheduled and actual times, the prediction we made, the outcome (played / canceled / rescheduled / indoors), the win/loss result, and any partner name and scores you entered. We use these reports solely to measure and improve forecast accuracy.

No identity, no tracking

Match reports contain no account, name, email address, advertising identifier, or device identifier that links them to you. We do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not sell or share your data for advertising. The app does not use the device's precise GPS location.

Partner names

If you enter a doubles partner's name, it is stored with your match and included in the match report described above. It is optional — leave it blank for singles. Please only enter a partner's name if you have their permission.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, the app schedules local reminders on your device for upcoming matches. These are generated on-device and are not sent through, or visible to, us.

Children

WIP Tennis is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Data retention

On-device match data remains until you delete it or uninstall the app. Anonymous match reports are retained on our backend to support ongoing forecast calibration. Because reports are anonymous, we cannot link a report back to a specific person to remove it individually.
